Another term almost done…

This weekend marks the conclusion of yet another term at Wharton…term 4. We are almost at the “MB” of the “MBA” journey. Term 4 was the start of electives so it’s been fun taking classes that are more aligned with your specific interests (e.g. marketing, management, or finance). However, it’s been confusing for me because some students have less classes or different classes so there’s always a bit of confusion as to where to go for my next class. But it’s organized pretty well so it’s not that bad.

Surprisingly enough, I think my favorite class this term was Legal Studies. I’ve never taken a legal class before and I didn’t think I’d actually like it but the discussions of our legal system were fascinating.

The strategic management class was nice and the cases were interesting but many of the discussions were recycled from previous classes and terms (Southwest Airlines, Barnes & Noble Vs. Amazon, etc.).

International corporate finance is very hard for me and is the most confusing class I’ve ever taken. I’m still not sure where the direction of graphs and how the various exchange rates impact importers vs. exporters, etc.

I’ll be happy on Saturday night when we officially have term 4 behind us and I’m eating a hot dog wearing my Barry Bonds jersey watching the Giants beat up the Phillies.

Class 35 finished Term 1 last weekend. I guess we’re only at an “upside down V” (half an M).

Good luck on your finals! I’m enjoying our four-week break, and trying to ignore the large pile of books that came on Monday. :(

Congrats on finishing term 1. I think term 1 was the lightest in terms of work load. Term 1 is a lot of fun though since you get to meet all of your fellow students, have some late night drinks, etc.

Term 2 is when classes start getting more serious and you have to stay in classes later through the night.

Anyway, class 35 should enjoy their break and get ready to head over to Philly for an awesome trip!
