Wharton MBA for Executives

I came home after work to find another fedex envelope at home. This envelope was from the Wharton school. It was not a full admit package since I don’t think they have it ready yet. I’m guessing that sometime around 4/15 I will get a nice big package with a lot of information.

This packet was not even a packet…it was just two pages. The first page was a letter say that I’m in and the second page was a form to fill out letting them know if I will attend or not. My deadline is 4/7.

I really have no intention of waiting around and thinking this over and over until the last minute so I filled out everything today.

1) I went to the UCLA admit website and then went to URSA to fill out my SIR (Statement of Intent to Register) and wrote that I will not be attending UCLA. It was a bit of a pain to do online (as you have to register for a URSA account, and navigate various menus, etc.) but it’s done. They make you fill out what school you are turning them down for but Penn wasn’t on the list for either California or Pennsylvania. Actually, Penn was there but only the dental school and undergrad so I picked whatever.

2) I filled out the Berkeley/Columbia paperwork and wrote that I will not be attending Berkeley. If you do attend, they ask that you write in the other schools that you were also admitted to. If you do not, they ask you what school you will be going to.

3) I filled out the Wharton form and wrote that I WILL be attending Wharton! I also enclosed my check for $2,500 to hold my spot. Wharton doesn’t even give you the option to turn them down. I suppose if you just don’t send it back then you’re turning them down. They also don’t ask where else you were admitted.

So there it is. Everything is in their envelopes and I’ll drop it all in the mail tomorrow!
