One final done. One more to go. Last Accounting Lecture.

MGEC final is over!  I took the final the morning.

Tomorrow is the Accounting final.  Everyone is definitely a lot more worried about that one.  I’ve been here on this blog mentioning the difficulty of accounting since midterm 1 and I mentioned a lot more after midterm 2.  I wasn’t quite sure if other students were having the same trouble that I was having in accounting but it looks like if they weren’t they finally are now.  Accounting is a royal PITA.

Igor said it best on his facebook status along the lines of…”the only thing worst than paying taxes is computing them on an accounting exam.”

The last accounting class was pretty entertaining.  We put all of our knowledge that we learned through the course into analyzing a financial statement.

But before that, we had our lecture about shareholders’ equity.  One rather entertaining moment in class went something like:

Igor: Let’s say that I own 70% of a company.  Then I do things to temporarily drive the stock price way down, purchase them as treasury stock, and then do things to bring the stock price back up again, and then sell my treasury stock?

Professor: Well, for one thing, there’s jail…

(class laughter)

Igor:  Not in Russia…

(class laughter)

Professor: They probably just send you to Georgia or something…
